ตั้งแต่ผมเป็นเด็ก ผมใฝ่ฝันที่อยากจะใช้ชีวิตในต่างประเทศมาโดยตลอด จนผมได้มารู้จักโครงการ WAT ของ OEG ซึ่งโครงการนี้ได้มาเติมเต็มในความฝันของผม ผมจำความรู้สึกครั้งแรกของการมา WAT ได้ดีครับ จนตอนนี้ผ่านไปเกือบ 11 ปีแล้ว ผมยังจดจำมันได้อยู่เสมอ ถึงแม้มันอาจจะเป็นช่วงเวลาสั้นๆ แต่มันคือช่วงเวลาที่ผมได้มีความสุขกับเพื่อนๆ ได้เปิดโลก เปิดมุมมองใหม่ๆ สำหรับผมโครงการ WAT มันคืออะไรที่วิเศษมากครับ

“From the moment we set foot in Thailand, we ran into problems with our credit card and were stuck in Suvarnabhumi Airport! We called OEG and they literally dropped everything to come and collect us. If we had any doubts about whether we had chosen the correct organization to teach in Thailand or not, they were wiped away in an instant. We always tell people that OEG was there to support us from day 1, and continue to do so up until today as OEG alumnus. Our 1 year program with OEG really gave us a strong foundation to gain valuable teaching experience, as well as navigating all the challenges of living in Thailand. Once we completed the OEG program, we were able to use that experience to apply to other schools in Thailand, and are currently teaching in our 2nd year at a private girls school.”

This program had polished myself into a defined and responsible young adult. From an introverted and inexpressive kid, exposure to a foreign environment circumstantially allowed me to become more expressive and take more initiatives in pursuing my goals. Had I not participated in this program, my life and career path would have been undeniably different” As of now, I have been part of the opening team as a bar supervisor of Morimoto Bangkok, a chain of international-influenced Japanese restaurant by Iron Chef Morimoto.

ด้วยความต่างของวัฒนธรรม ทำให้ช่วงแรกไม่ง่าย แต่สิ่งเหล่านี้เรามองว่ามันเป็นบทเรียนที่ดีมาก เมื่อเจออุปสรรค เราก็ต้องฝึกช่วยเหลือตัวเอง ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่ไม่ชอบทำเลย แต่ก็ต้องทำให้มันดีขึ้น เพื่อปรับความเข้าใจ เราได้เห็นมิตรภาพของเพื่อนที่อธิบายวัฒนธรรมให้เราเข้าใจ มันเป็นสิ่งที่พิเศษมากๆ และตอนนี้เราก็ผ่านมันมาได้ เมื่อเรามองย้อนกลับไปคิดทีไร เราก็ภูมิใจกับมันทุกที คือถ้าอยู่ไทยคงหาแบบนี้ไม่ได้ มันเป็นบทเรียนที่คุ้มค่า ถึงแม้อาจไม่ได้เป็นปีที่ดีที่สุด แต่มันเป็นปีที่มีคุณค่าและน่าจดจำที่สุดของเรา
